Book Sale Coordinator

Coordinate the organization of and carrying out our annual book sale with the help of a planning committee and event volunteers. 

Detailed Description: 
The annual Book Sale, held on a Saturday in January or February, is one of the most fun events at QUUF! The foyer and fellowship hall turn into a big used bookstore for the day, where you can buy a year’s worth of terrific books donated by a well-read community. The sale is planned for and carried out by a team. The coordinator provides overall organization of the event, including organizing volunteers and interfacing with the QUUF staff. S/he also coordinates or delegates meetings, advertising, signage, event layout and all the other details of carrying out a book sale. New in 2017 is a private reception/pre-sale scheduled for the evening before the public sale.Most of the coordinator’s work is during the week of the sale. Four to six planning meetings take place over the year, mostly in the fall or in the month following the sale. Two people could share this role.

Provide an opportunity to the general public to visit QUUF and talk with our members/volunteers. Get ‘first shot’ at the best collection of books in the area!

Skills Needed: 

Organization and positive encouragement of a team. Good decision making and respect for others’ ideas and skills. Average skills with Microsoft Office, email and other online tools of your choice. A love of books!
