Youth Advisor

Youth Advisors work in a team with the Director of Family Ministry (DFM) to lead Sunday evening high school youth group.

Detailed Description: 
Three youth advisers along with the DFM lead Sunday evening Youth Group from 6-8pm on a rotating basis. Two adults facilitate each evening, and generally this means each Adviser covers two Sundays/month. The number of youth in youth group varies between about 6-15 youth, depending on the year. Youth Advisors meet periodically to develop programming and decide how to best support youth leadership in crafting their own youth group experience. There are two youth conferences a year and a few overnights- some advisers attend overnights, others stick to only the Sunday night evening sessions.

Skills Needed: 

Successful Youth Advisors enjoy high school youth, are able to encourage youth leadership and understand the focus is on facilitating spiritual and emotional growth in youth. Adults must be flexible, good listeners, confidential, and willing to grow.

Training, assistance, and safety requirements: 

Youth Advisers must be at least 25 years old. They must read the QUUF Safety Policy, sign appropriate documents, and agree to a background screening.
